The executive delegation from Hessen arrived in Vietnam on August 29th and met with VietinBank as the Bank was in the midst of making preparations for the opening of our first European branch, located in Frankfurt – a city of key financial importance not just in Germany but also in Europe as a whole.
On behalf of VietinBank management, Acting CEO Nguyen Van Thang gladly briefed the State Minister and the delegation on VietinBank’s achievements throughout the past 23 years as well as the Bank’s growth prospects. The Acting CEO stressed that VietinBank highly prioritizes overseas expansion, with particular focus on European countries. The opening of our first European branch is a testament to VietinBank’s status as a leading financial and banking corporation in Vietnam that continually takes steps to expand into international markets.

State Minister Michael Boddenberg expressed his thanks to VietinBank executives for spending their time welcoming the German delegation, as well as congratulated VietinBank on having progressed by leaps and bounds and on having seized a large share of the market not just in Vietnam but in other regions of the world. The State Minister also provided additional information on Frankfurt, on Hessen, as well as other information that might be of use to VietinBank as we set foot in Germany’s banking sector. Such information would be very useful to Vietnamese businesses and especially to VietinBank as we cooperate with other organizations in such areas as finance, investment, and banking. The State Minister asserted that VietinBank had expanded into a lucrative market and deemed VietinBank’s prospects to be highly favorable. He also pledged to facilitate VietinBank’s opening of the first European branch to the best of his abilities, as well as to introduce VietinBank to those businesses in Hessen that currently have investments in Vietnam or that intend to do so.
